Alice in Borderland

WHY

If you are looking for a new series to binge-watch during the weekend, look no further, Alice in Borderland is the perfect match for you! Adapted from the manga of the same name, the series takes us to an alternative Tokyo in which people are confronted with deadly games. The winners literally win life time. It’s a shock to discover Tokyo without activity and its dense population. We travel through the urban environment in a completely new way and every evening we discover what the new playgrounds are. These are real escape games divided into several categories, we let you discover which ones, but be aware that the tension will be very strong each time and the consequences will be terrible even for the survivors. It is very interesting to learn what the players did in their previous lives, it really enriches their characters and changes our vision on some of them. After a few episodes the story will take on a new dimension and become really interesting, also avoiding the repetition of endless games. It will also bring new characters who are much more eccentric and completely crazy. We wish you a great game!

WHAT

Arisu—a listless, jobless and video-game-obsessed young man—suddenly finds himself in a strange, emptied-out version of Tokyo in which he and his friends must compete in dangerous games in order to survive. In this strange world, Arisu meets Usagi, a young woman who’s navigating the games alone. Together, they set out to unravel one mystery after another as they risk their lives and confront what it means to live.

Rose Island

WHY

Inspired by true events, Rose Island tells the incredible story of a young idealist engineer who will build an island off the coast of Rimini with friends! Giorgio Rosa (Elio Germano) is really touching and also very gifted, he notably built his own car while forgetting to put license plates on it. He lives in his own world. This Italian film is really very interesting and we follow with great pleasure the construction of this “state”. The island will soon become a sort of floating disco that will not bother anyone and even less the Italian government. War will be declared as soon as this small idealistic team wants to have its state recognised as independent by the UN. Italy will have no choice, after having tried questionable methods, but to put its weight on the table. It’s a great pleasure to watch the movie, a good dose of humour is present throughout the story but it also knows how to bring emotion and tears when the moment comes. We also appreciate to see that each character keeps his language and are played by an interesting casting (superb appearance of François Cluzet!).

WHAT

Giorgio, a gifted yet misunderstood engineer has hit rock bottom – he’s been fired from his job, his parents won’t speak to him, and the love of his life has ditched him after he accidentally gets them both arrested (long story…). Sick of the stuffy rules of Italian society of the late 60s, Giorgio hatches an impossible plan; he will build his own island in the middle of the sea. Joined by a team of revolutionaries and outcasts, the Republic of Rose Island is founded, independence is declared and Giorgio is appointed President. However, team values and resilience are tested, as the Italian Prime Minister decides Giorgio’s idealistic island is Italy’s Enemy Number One.

The Mandalorian – Season 2 – The Believer

WHY

For this new episode of The Mandalorian, Mando assembles a powerful team to retrieve information enabling him to locate Baby Yoda. Among this team is Mayfeld (played by Bill Burr) who we discovered in the first season’s episode of The Prisoner. His character will be enriched by a past that will make him very interesting and touching. We will also discover the human side of the Empire’s stormtroopers. In terms of action, we will be served in a beautiful way with a magnificent sequence that pays tribute to William Friedkin‘s cult film, Sorcerer! And what a pleasure to have Boba Fett and his iconic ship in the middle of the aerial dogfight!

WHAT

The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.

This beautiful tale takes us back to Ireland a long time ago and will offer us a confrontation between man, in full development, and nature. She is represented by its Wolfwalkers and their wolf pack. We will discover this incredible world through the eyes of a young girl, an apprentice hunter. This film is a wonderful ode to nature and animals. The art direction is simply sublime with its special animation and game of light and shadows. It is really nice to see something different, original and with a touching and interesting story. This will suit perfectly for children as well as parents. Don’t miss this magical adventure!
