The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – The Star Spangled Man

WHY

This new episode opens with the presentation of the new Captain America, John Walker. Played by Wyatt Russell who we saw in Overlord. Fully aware of the pressure and the difficulty of succeeding to Steve Rogers, this new Captain America tries to do things right. This episode is also the occasion to discover Falcon and Winter Solder together at last and let’s tell you right away the collaboration is quite conflicting but very funny to watch. An excellent action sequence on trucks will follow and will oppose our heroes to super soldiers. During this fight Captain America will arrive with another superhero, Battlestar. Despite this reinforcement, our heroes are going to be beaten, which changes a little bit from the Marvel standard and allows to develop even more the relationship between them and the animosity of our heroes towards this new Captain America. A common session with a shrink comes later in the episode and is absolutely hilarious and touching. Don’t miss the end of this episode which will bring a well known enemy!

WHAT

Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. The pair, who came together in the final moments of “Avengers: Endgame,” team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience.

The Irregulars

WHY

This new Netflix series takes us to Victorian London to follow a group of teenagers who live on the streets of the city. They will soon be recruited by Dr. Watson to help him solve supernatural investigations. This group of kids is quickly endearing especially the character of Jessie who has a very special gift. Each of the teenagers has their own personality and “specialty”. The “leader” of the group lacks a bit of charisma and can be quite annoying at times but the relationships between them work relatively well. The investigations are interesting to follow and foreshadow a much greater danger to come! One of the major interests of this series is to follow in parallel the group of teenagers and Dr Watson accompanied by the famous Sherlock Holmes. The alchemy of this duo is as you can imagine quite complicated but very complementary. The series offers a darker and different vision of this famous duo as well as for the other characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Even if at the beginning the teenagers are only underlings for Watson, this will change after a few episodes to become much more complex and interesting. Get ready for a tour of London’s underworld!
