Animaniacs

WHY

What a joy to meet again the crazy and happy band of Animaniacs! The pilot opens with the excellent tribute to Jurassic Park that we shared some time ago! As much to say that after 22 years of absence, they are in great shape and that everyone (from entertainment, sport and of course politics) will be touched by the corrosive glance of the Warner brothers and their sister! The references to pop culture are legion and the Warner Bros. licensing cameos will be prolific (the whole DC universe will be there). The many songs are really well done, inspired and very funny, especially the one making fun about reboots and remakes. We like this black and self-derision humor, the Animaniacs are not spared either! In addition to the Warner brothers and their sister, let’s not forget Pinky and The Brain who continue to prepare more crazy plans (full of references) to dominate the world. In the current gloomy climate, this new season of the Animaniacs is a real breath of fresh air! It is also very appreciable that the creators have kept the 2D animation look and have not given in to 3D animation. This obviously takes us more than 20 years back in time. And we warn you that the theme song will stay in your head for a long time!

WHAT

They’re back! The Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, and the Warner sister Dot, have a great time wreaking havoc and mayhem in the lives of everyone they meet. After returning to their beloved home, the Warner Bros. water tower, the siblings waste no time in causing chaos and comic confusion as they run loose through the studio, turning the world into their personal playground. Joining Yakko, Wakko and Dot, fan-favorite characters Pinky and the Brain also return to continue their quest for world domination.

His Dark Materials – Season 2

WHY

This new season of His Dark Materials is based on the second book of the saga written by Philip Pullman and will show us even more intensely the collision between different worlds. In the company of the heroine Lyra Belacqua, we discover the magnificent but mysterious city of Cittàgazze, a veritable portal between worlds. The city is also very dangerous if you are an adult! The transition between these worlds will not be easy for our heroine for whom it will take some time to adapt. That will brings some funny moments as the meaning of some words are completely different and also that one world doesn’t have any daemons. It is very interesting to see the two versions of the city of Oxford and to explore the possibilities that some characters would have had if they had evolved in the Other World. Even if this second season is still quite talkative, the pace is faster and many action sequences will be present from the beginning of this season. The war between the Magisterium (and its terrifying zeppelins) and the witches will bring some really intense and magnificent sequences. We’ve seen half of the episodes and the story was beginning to take on a real dimension and developed very promising stakes! We can’t wait to see what will happens next!

WHAT

Season two of HIS DARK MATERIALS begins after Lord Asriel has opened a bridge to a new world, and, distraught over the death of her best friend, Lyra follows Asriel into the unknown. In a strange and mysterious abandoned city she meets Will, a boy from our world who is also running from a troubled past. Lyra and Will learn their destinies are tied to reuniting Will with his father but find their path is constantly thwarted as a war begins to brew around them. Meanwhile, Mrs. Coulter searches for Lyra, determined to bring her home by any means necessary.

The Mandalorian – Season 2 – The Siege

WHY

The galactic adventures of our favorite duo continue and despite Mando’s efforts to train Baby Yoda in mechanics, they will have to come back to make a technical stop in Nevarro (the city of the final of the first season). This will be an opportunity to see again Gina Carano and Carl Weathers and discover what they have done with this city. Note that Carl Weathers is also the director of this episode of The Mandalorian, marking his directional debut into the Star Wars universe. Without wanting to spoil you too much, know that you’ll have epic fights against Stomrtroopers using the full range of vehicles of the Empire to end in a very intense dogfight! The main story is also going to get bigger by revealing a little more of Moff Gideon’s (Giancarlo Esposito) terrifying plans and why he need Baby Yoda. Speaking about him, our super cute friend will have of course its memorable moments including a very special use of the Force!

WHAT

The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.
