Rogue City

WHY

The former policeman Oliver Marchal, who has become an actor and above all a director (the excellent film 36 Quai des Orfèvres and the Canal+ series Braquo), takes us this time to a police station in Marseille. We will discover there the various tensions and internal struggle between the different services but also its corrupt cops and not only by the bad guys but also for political ambitions. The bad guys will come from the Corsican organized crime and also some free shooters. This is a bit caricatural but it fulfils perfectly its function. The appearances of Gerard Lanvin and Jean Reno reinforce this aspect. The story remains very classic but offers its share of little surprises and shocking sequences without forgetting some small inconsistencies. But the film is a pleasure to watch and offers really cool action sequences. The finale is, as you can imagine, very explosive and bloody. If you’re looking for a good B-movie to change your mind, Rogue City is the perfect fit!

WHAT

Marseille. Everything begins with carnage worthy of the killing of the Bar du Telephone, caused by the men of the Orsoni clan. Richard Vronski, a cop of the anti-gang brigade with unorthodox methods, finds himself in charge of the investigation, facing his rivals of the BRB, commanded by Costa, a police major in the troubled actions. A new director, Divisional Commissioner Angel Leonetti arrives to tidy up Marseille and master the crazy dogs on his team. But all will quickly realize that you get nothing without sacrifices or risk taking. Especially when the Commissioner’s daughter rubs with the anti-gang, that the men of the northern cities attack the Corsicans, that a key witness is assassinated while in police custody and that the police force sends his most bitter agent . So Vronski and his men, to save their skin, will skid on a fast go of the most dangerous .

The Mandalorian – Season 2

WHY

The wait is finally over! The continuation of the adventures of The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda carry on in a very great way! This first episode takes us to a planet that the fans know very well, Tatooine! And of course this comes with the Jawas and the Tusken Raiders. We will discover a lot about them. The story takes us into the Far West style with this new mission for Mando. We appreciate the reference with the character of the Marshal and especially his actor (I leave you the pleasure to discover it yourself). The rules of the western are well respected and we witness several iconic and intense sequences. In addition to Tatooine, the filiation with the original trilogy is also stronger. Baby Yoda is cuter as ever and starts to have good reflexes with Mando’s actions. Note that this first and excellent episode is written and directed by Jon Favreau! We can’t wait to see the rest of their adventures! This is the way!

WHAT

The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.

The Undoing begins like a real fairy tale for Nicole Kidman who has a fulfilled professional life and a loving and caring family. The house of cards will soon collapses following a terrible murder. The many secrets and deceptions will then be discovered. The casting is really excellent whether in front of the camera, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and Donald Sutherland are really perfect, but also behind with Susanne Bier and David E. Kelley. You can really feel Kelley’s touch in the writing of the series. We appreciate the many cut shots of the beautiful environment that is New York. The filmmaking and the cinematography are really beautiful. Each episode ends with a cliffhanger. Having seen 5 of the 6 episodes, we can’t wait for the final conclusion!
